Lincoln Book Report

Abe Lincoln: Log Cabin to White House, by Sterling North, is a biography of 148 pages. The story takes place in Springfield, Illinois, and Washington, D.C.

Abe Lincoln was born on a farm in Kentucky. His mother died when he was 10. After that his 12 year old sister did the cooking and cleaning until Tom Lincoln got a new wife named Sarah. When Abe was 12 he got kicked by a horse. (OUCH!) Abe was a successful lawyer and had his own law office. Soon Abe Lincoln was voted as president. Right after the slaves were free Abe was murdered by a crazed actor named John Wilkes Booth at Ford’s Theater while watching a play titled “My American Cousin”.

I’m better because it teaches me to never give up. It also makes me wiser because it teaches me to make the “right” choices. It proves that no task is too big and to let freedom ring.

Abe said his final words to his friends in Illinois when he got on the train and prepared to leave or Washington D.C. Before he left he said, “My friends… No one not in my situation can appreciate my feeling of sadness at this parting. To this place and the kindness of these people, I owe everything. Here I have lived a quarter of a century, and have passed from a young to old man. Here my children have been born and one buried. I now leave, not knowing when, whether I may return, with a task before me greater than that rested upon Washington. I now bid you a farewell.”

The best thing about this book is that it teaches you a piece of history. It also teaches you to never give up. I’ve learned a lot from this book I hope people who read it do too.

I have completely read this entire book.

I need ppl to read my newz why because I just want ppl to read it. When hardly anyone reads my newz and doesnt reply i feel like a plate of gritz >:l. Maybe righting bout MY adventures arnt good enough for you still not a reason to leave me as a plate of gritz . Ok… so maybe read boo’s newz too.. i mean it’s just a little compitition right?? Waz up peeps?! On april 6th I went to 6 flags. I wanted to stay home. ( brothers reaction ) oh joy ^_^ I could see little !! flying around his head @_@.. My reaction was a what fun O_<.. I still had fun ( other than the long drive!! ) My bro. got pic’s taken with charecters – cough – ppl in costumes creep me out O_O!! On the way up we were waching Enchanted. We had lots of fun bumping, crashing, ramming, colliding on the bumper cars ( major headach ).

my brother,mom and I went to see the jonas brothers THEY ROCK!!! there was alot of squelling girls my reaction eye rolling @_@. My hearing was like shut down after the concert luckly in the morning it was better thank pete!! O_o well we has lots of fun.

Assignment: Write a paragraph about this picture using as many spelling words as possible.

On the battleship the lieutenant set the navigation system. He told his best soldier, “Today we fight for America. I want you to start planning maneuvers.” The soldier did as he was told. After he finished he went to the quarter troops to plan how to sink the ship for they were Ireland spies. Everyone though that Ireland was neutral but they thought wrong. As soon as they had a chance they blew up the ship with TNT. The Ireland spies survived. They swam to an island and met Habakkuk, Zephaniah, and Haggai.

Yesterday I raced in the pinewood derby. I got 1st place!! I also got best looking car!! I don’t know if I get to race other peeps agian. We cub scouts had a lot of fun.
